Big Cat Festival 2018

On 20th May 2018 at the Royal Geographical Society, Bradt Guides held a much-anticipated event. Wildlife fanatics came from far and wide to see big names like Jonathan Scott of BBC Big Cat Diary fame.

A highlight among the day’s star-studded line up was the Royal Patron of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, HRH Princess Michael of Kent. Princess Michael also signed copies of her book “A Cheetah’s Tale”, published by Bradt Guides.

Acclaimed wildlife artist Jonathan Truss displayed his stunning big cat canvasses. John Rendall and photographer Derek Cattani talked about the extraordinary life of Christian the Lion. Also speaking were Gavin Boyland of BBC Big Cats, photographer Paul Goldstein and writer Mike Unwin.

To close, leading conservationists Sarah Durant (ZSL), Dr Laurie Marker (CCF) and Carey Widdows (AfriCat) offered hope for the future of these beautiful animals.
