2nd – 27th November

There are just 7,000 cheetahs left in the wild. This iconic species is at risk of extinction due to threats such as human-wildlife conflict.

Livestock Guarding Dogs are CCF's 'paws on the ground' partner in conservation. They use their loud bark and imposing presence to protect livestock, and reduce farmer-predator conflict - in Namibia, and other cheetah range countries.

These special dogs have become the farmers best friend and they play a vital role in securing a future for the cheetah and all who share its landscape.

CCF manages the care of almost 200 breeding and active working dogs and each one needs our support. We ensure our dogs and young pups get the essential food, vaccinations and medication they need to thrive. We also visit farms throughout the year to undertake health checks, provide necessary vaccinations and to ensure farmers continue to treat their dogs well.

We’re challenging dogs and their owners to Go Walkies, collectively aiming to clock up 7000 km - 1km for each cheetah left in the wild today

All doggy participants will be provided with a ‘Cheetah Guardians Bandana’ kindly sponsored by DMS

The target, the location and the pace are all set by the doggies and their human chums

We hope this challenge will keep furry friends fit and their owners happy!
