Race for Cheetahs – so far

We created ‘Race for Cheetahs’ to bring us all together over one week to keep our minds active and our bodies fit and healthy! At this time of uncertainty we needed something to bring us together, so our amazing volunteers joined together in their race help save the cheetah, orchestrated by our Cheetah Communities.

We’ve invited supporters from across the UK to take part in a national combined 100km run, and our runners smashed that on the first day and have continued to do so. We’ve now had over 50 cheetah racers (and pets) over the course the week – running, jogging and walking their way around the country and raising awareness and funds for cheetah conservation. We’re now heading comfortably towards 1,000kms (10x our original target!), with the very fittest completing multiple marathon distances – tune in on Saturday 2nd of May to see who will win our Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for their contributions.

We’ve even had two mini racers – Sophie, age 9 who has been obsessed with cheetahs since she was a toddler…

…and Alexander, age 2, who has joined his mum Adina on all her walks/runs his buggy. Well done to you both for your amazing efforts.

To date we’ve raised over £1,700 and counting! All donations welcome via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/midlandscheetah

The racing will officially finish on Friday 1st May so there is still time to take part – simply email midlands@cheetah.org.uk for more info.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR RACERS!
